Especially pertinent with the cold, wet, and icy weather that most of South Africa is currently experiencing is the fact that even greater care is needed when behind the wheel of your car. Most importantly drivers need to slow down.

This E92 BMW M3 owner clearly ignored the wet conditions, lost control and slid across the road before smashing his car into the concrete Armco.

Fortunately, according to witnesses, none of the occupants of the BMW were “seriously hurt”.

I’ve often considered why road tests don’t make a point of covering the way a car handles, brakes, accelerates in the wet as well as the dry. Yes, I know, a convenient squal is not offen to hand, so it’s not always possible. Still, it is so that some cars handle closer to their dry-handling brief than others. The M3 is in this category (as opposed to, say, our Jeep Cherokee), and by this the driver of the BMW in this clip is all the more culpable for not making at least some basic allowances. Not a good look.
